Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup Download
Developed by the community, Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup is a free roguelike computer game. It is the community-developed successor to Linley's Dungeon Crawl, the original roguelike program programmed by Linley Henzell. It has been called one of the "major roguelikes" by John Harris.
Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup is available in a non-graphical console port and a graphical Tiles version. Both versions are included in the same pre-built package. In addition, the game features a wizard mode, which lets users create their own characters.
The game is a roguelike game that is composed of persistent levels. The game also has a MacGuffin that can be found at the end of each dungeon branch. In addition to collecting the fabled Orb of Zot, you must collect magical runes and battle many different enemies in order to advance in the game. Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup is very friendly for beginners, but it does require some practice to master the game fully.
Unlike NetHack, Crawl is less likely to discourage players from spending a lot of time on the upper levels. Players tend to linger in these levels for longer periods, where they can regenerate and sacrifice at an altar. In addition, both games have "bone" levels where players can save their progress and find the items they need to survive. The latter allows players to respawn from battles that have taken place in higher levels.
